Its great to have teenagers
My daughter that lives in St. George came to visit for Thanksgiving. We had a lot of fun. My teenage daughters were incredible. They made the time my grandchildren were here a happy time. First they told them they were going to have a tea party. In order to participate in this tea party they all had to speak in a British Accent. I think my granddaughters will remember this experience with fond memories. I have never laughed so hard. They used a German chocolate cake and some milk for there little party. Then they were to pretend they were princesses and had to act accordingly. (They are ages 7 and 5 how could they act.) My daughter kept saying things like you can't laugh that hard you are a princess and then of course my granddaughters would laugh so hard they couldn't eat. My daughter would then say you need to drink your milk this way remember you are a princess. Then she would show them how and they wouldn't do it the way that she told them too. She would say that isn't proper for a princess. They would laugh again. It was so funny to watch. Because the grand kids tried to speak with the accent as well as my daughter. It just literally was hilarious. I wish I had a camcorder so I could have recorded it and shared. It was priceless. The next thing they did was dress up in dress ups and have a dance. They put on music and danced around for along time. My grandson even got into it and he is only 1. What an enjoyable day! I even participated in the dance. Great times!!!

The Joy Of A New Grandchild
I had the opportunity to go out and help my daughter because she was having a new baby. She was due on October the 18th but waited until I got there. I arrived the evening of October 21st and she had little Madison on October 22nd in the morning. Perfect timing thinks to my daughter that lives in St. George. She was obviously inspired. I was lucky to be there just in time. When my daughter brought home that beautiful baby I couldn't help but be in total awe! This child was perfect in every way and had just been on the earth a few short hours. It made me cry a little just to have the privilege of holding her and seeing her with all her little fingers and all her little toes. Her little hands and legs and little face so perfect. I felt as though I was witnessing a part of heaven and what a privilege. Children are such a blessing to us and they bring such joy. I stayed with my daughter and her 2 precious children for just 9 days and in that short time I witnessed heaven on earth. I didn't want to leave. I am glad I had such a wonderful opportunity. Thank-you to the people who made it possible for me to go.

My Granddaughter
Children are our joy in this life and we are blessed if we have them. I feel the same way about my grandchildren. My granddaughter received a special gift from a special person who was not family to her, it was a princess outfit. When she saw it she wanted to put it on quickly, she was so excited. She danced around in it. Then she got very excited and exclaimed to her mother. Mom this is the fanciest dress I have every had in my whole magical life. It is interesting to me how much joy can come into a child's life with one small jester of kindness, and how thankful that they can be for it. I often wish we could all enjoy such excitement over the little things in life.
A Little Glimpse Of Heaven
I went to visit my daughter last week who lives about 4 hours from us. We went to visit for the weekend. It was an enjoyable weekend. It was fun to get away from home and our frustrating and hectic life. On Sunday morning as I awoke I could hear my little grandson running around the kitchen making crazy noises. I found myself falling back to sleep when I awoke again there was silence. No noise with 3 little children, unbelievable. I walked into the family room and there was my daughter with her 2 girls silently listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It was turned down very soft and low, and my daughter was printing little pictures of the Savior and his life on paper. Each of the girls had taken the pictures and were silently coloring them. For one small brief moment I saw heaven on earth. Among all our busy and hectic lives I witnessed a tiny miracle. A mother and children making peace on earth. I felt as though I were in Heaven. Thank-you to my daughter and her sweet children.

My daughter
Sometimes life can take you back to a special time in your life and sometimes things people say bring back memories. I remember when my children were little. My oldest daughter was in kindergarten. She made life so fun. Her teacher loved her and said she had never had a student quite like her. When she would color it was total perfection. She said if she had two pictures side by side that were exactly alike, but were reversed she would color them in reverse exactly the same colors in the same place. She was a child that did everything to perfection even coloring. (Because we had very little money my children colored a lot in their spare time. ) I rejoiced in anything she brought home from school. But one day when she came home she wasn't much interested in her performance instead she was interested in a little boy that she had met, she came home with a big smile on her face and announced that she had just met the fanciest boy in the whole school and she really liked him. First love can be magical especially for a child.

My Son

I find it fun to reflect on the times when my children were small. I have a 20 year old son who is serving a mission in Russia. So I think of him often because I miss him. I shared in a funny experience with him when he was 3 years old. we had just moved from Florida to Utah so we were staying in my parents basement apartment, until we could find a home of our own. It was a fun experience for all of us. My children had lived in Florida for 5 years and never really got to know their grandparents. So my sons favorite thing to do was run upstairs and climb in bed with his grandparents early in the morning. One morning he found a balloon and ran it upstairs so his grandfather could blow it up. We had purchased the balloons earlier to have fun with them. They were the little long balloons that people make shapes out of. Those of you who know about those balloons they are extremely hard to blow up. When my son came downstairs we were playing with the balloons trying to blow them up. He looked like he had seen a ghost, and he said don't ever ask grandpa to blow up a balloon. We asked him, why? After questioning him he proceeded to tell us the story. His eyes became very large and his expression was so cute as he said, Grandpa tried and tried to blow up the balloon I brought him and suddenly his teeth went flying out. I'd forgotten about my fathers false teeth. I couldn't help but laugh. I think my son was frighten for us all trying to blow up those balloons.

The Fun We Have

My little granddaughter continues to want me in her life. Although she lives across the United States from me she is with me every day. She calls me on the phone and takes me on many new adventures. We play hide and seek. We make meals together. She defends me against monsters. We rock on the rocking chair, we explore the basement, we clean her bedroom and jump on her bed. We sing songs, we get drinks together. All of this is done by her imagination and the phone. In her little mind I am the phone so our lives together are always exciting.
